Reading and commutation of digital Hall effect sensor data
Used In:
- Systems using need-to-know commutation methods
- Brushless 3-phase motors
Used In:
A standard Hall effect sensor provides 3 electrical angle readouts, which divide a complete electrical cycle into 6 regions of 60° each:
Elmo drives support single-ended input for Hall signals, and also provide an automatic procedure to correlate between each Hall signal and the phases of the operating motor. When required, polarity can also be reversed.
An automatic commutation calibration is used to determine the phase offset for each commutation.
Elmo’s Hall sensor feedback application can control commutation, current loop, velocity loop and position loop.
